The 2017 Ferrari LaFerrari Spider
August 02, 2016
Making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 2013, the original Ferrari LaFerrari clearly stole the limelight away from the McLaren P1 and the Lamborghini Veneno, no easy feat but one that seems expected in retrospect. After all, the LaFerrari not only came as the fastest ever legal supercar from the Ferrari workshop, but was also the first Ferrari with a hybrid powertrain. As the natural heir to the throne created by the Enzo and the F50, the $1.7 million La Ferrari became an overnight classic with well-heeled enthusiasts, who bought up all 499 units quickly.
Come the upcoming Paris Motor Show, history looks set to be made yet again with a new drop on the LaFerrari, aimed at collectors who refuse to compromise on the joy of drop-top driving when behind the wheels of one of the fastest moving vehicles on earth. Even before the official release, and before the release of the name and technical characteristics of the new LaFerrari, all available examples have already been sold after an exclusive preview to clients.
What is known, though, is that the new series will be available with a removable carbon-fibre hard top as well as a soft top. Equipped with the same running gear and performance figures as the original, the new LaFerrari sports an 800 cv V12 ICE coupled with a 120 kW electric motor that has a massive output of 963 cv.

Most impressive is the fact that despite the open roof, significant technological advances have been made to ensure that the vehicles aerodynamics and drag coefficient match that of the original. Find out more from Ferrari here.
